The new CD from Dave Norris is finally complete. "The Journey" features 12 tracks that in one way or another
reflects his musical journey to date. Included on this CD are tracks that Dave wrote for his current band, The D & R Studio Band
and that were featured on their "Time Machine" CD ( "Old Time Rock And Roll Band", I've Been Waiting" and "The Door") plus a track from the reunion CD of Dave's late 1960's band
The Royal Colony, ("Baby, I Need Your Loving").
Dave's friend Jennifer Dyer was brave enough to record a duet with Dave for this project. That
track, "Lost In Your Love" (written by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees), was named by 106.7 FM in Athens
as their "Pick Hit Of The Week" back on November 3rd 2008!
Dave has written two brand new songs for this CD, "I Hadn't Counted On You" and "Writing Words", and also included here is a new recording
of a song that Dave wrote back in 1969 and recorded then with The Royal Colony, "Loving Arms". That 1969 recording can be heard (if you have the nerve to listen! Ha Ha) on
a video that includes vintage photos and the "story" of what inspired the song, plus the video includes the new version as well. That video can be seen on our Video Page.
And Dave, with help from the rest of the D & R Studio Band, has recorded "Traveling Man" for this new CD as a tribute to the late, great Rick Nelson.
